Don Albera è stato il precursore di Museo Casa Don Bosco, il ‘nonno del Museo’ si potrebbe dire bonariamente.
Il percorso inizia durante la grande guerra periodo in cui, nonostante le difficoltà, Don Paolo Albera trova il modo di dedicare un momento della sua vita Salesiana al culto mariano.
Ci siamo interrogati a lungo sul perché, durante quel periodo di fermento così terribile che è stata la prima guerra mondiale, Don Albera abbia trovato il tempo di cercare cimeli relativi al culto mariano.
Un’altra importante coincidenza si manifesta attraverso alcuni dettagli: in una guida ricordo del 1927 in cui si fa riferimento ai festeggiamenti per i cinquanta anni di sacerdozio di Don Albera coincidenti proprio con i cinquanta anni di consacrazione della basilica di Maria Ausiliatrice. E’ proprio durante quei giorni di celebrazione che prende vita questo primo nucleo museale.
