Fr. Albera’s Story

June 6,1845: Paul is born in the village of None, the youngest of seven children. Two of his brothers become religious, and his only sister becomes a Daughter of Charity.

1852-57: Paul attends primary school in the village

October 18, 1858: Paul attends secondary school in Valdocco, where he meets Michael Magone.

May 1, 1860: Paul joins the Salesian Society and begin his study of philosophy.

May 14, 1862: He professes religious vows with the first group of Salesians.
