Fr. Albera’s Story

ThePaul Albera’s Formative Years

September 1863

With Fr. Rua and other Salesians, Albera founds the first minor seminary in Mirabello, serving as assistant and teacher while pursuing studies in philosophy and theology.

September 1865

Albera pursues studies at the University of Turin towards secondary school teaching qualifications.

August 2, 1868

Albera is ordained a priest in Casale by Bishop Pietro Maria Ferré

Don Bosco’s words to him on that occasion:

“When you have the joy of celebrating your first mass, ask God for the grace to never be discouraged”.
